Accomodation
Don't let the "Inn" bit in our name fool you - we don't have any rooms to let. We can, however, highly recommend the gorgeous Teviotdale House, just around the corner. teviotdalehouse.com
Welcome
The Old Bell is one of the finest examples of a traditional Scottish pub in Edinburgh. The dark wood panelling, fine old bar and dark homely interior mark it out as one of the most snug and comfortable watering holes in the country.

Traditional pubs are the life and soul of Scottish towns and cities and Edinburgh is no different. Popular with locals, students and visiting tourists alike, we're proud to stand out from the crowds of style bars and celebrate all that's best about the proper pub!
Nestled in the historic Southside of the city The Old Bell Inn provides quality cask ales from all over Scotland, a huge selection of malt whiskies, fine wines and traditional Scottish pub grub with a modern twist. Tranquil afternoons can be passed with a book, dominoes or banter with the regulars, while large plasma screens cater for the (slightly less tranquil!) big sporting events.
If you're after a bite to eat our bar menu provides traditional pub grub with a Scottish twist - you've really got to try the haggis spring rolls with whisky mayonnaise, and Deuchars IPA provides the extra tang and crunch to our battered haddock. After something a little more elegant? Upstairs you'll find The New Bell our renowned restaurant serving Italian inspired food utilising the very best of Scotland's cheese, game and seafood.
